Chindig 05: 420 Pool Party

Dear friends,

We just made it home from our spring tour today, and we’ve already got a lot of great things coming up to keep us busy until the summer comes. Here’s just a few of them:

420 Pool Party


This April 20th, we’re really excited to bring to you the first ever joint production between our own Chinquapin Records, Community Records & Ampersand Events – our first 420 Pool Party!

We’ll be opening up the doors at Club Ampersand at 8PM for your pool party pleasure, then we’ll move then show inside for a set of sweet SOUL COVERS and originals.

This is also going to be the kickoff for Community Records’ Block Party the next day!

First off, we’d like to give a big thanks to everyone who came out and spent Mardi Gras with us. Yet again, we had an incredible time and we’re honored to have shared it with so many great people.

In other news, we’re super excited for the shows we have in March including opening up for Maps and Atlases at One Eyed Jacks this Saturday at One Eyed Jacks, sharing some dates in Mississippi w/ Juston Stens and the Get Real Gang and heading to Austin for South by South West.

Dear Friends,

We wanted to let you know about a really exciting show we've got coming up in a few weeks. We along with our best friends in Caddywhompus and Chinquapin Records are hosting Chicago's own math-folk heroes Maps & Atlases on March 10th at One Eyed Jacks. We'll be selling tickets through the Chinquapin Records website, and each presale ticket includes an album of unreleased Caddywhompus demos. We're also selling a limited run of fifty screen printed posters by Houston artist Shelby Hohl. Here's Chris from Caddywhompus showing one off:

We’re playing Chinquapin Records’ Mardi Gras Chindig – A Mardi Gras Ball

We just finished putting together a lot of exciting shows this spring, and we really wanted to tell y’all about them.

We’re really excited to be playing as a part of Chinquapin Records‘ upcoming Chindig 04 this Mardi Gras! This will be the first of two nights at Cafe Prytania (right off the parade route), after all that day’s parades and debauchery have officially ended. We’ll be playing with our best friends in Country Club and Vox & the Hound, and we’ll be playing some brand new jams and old goodies.

Weezer Throwback

Dear friends,

We’re really excited about our Throwback show coming up this Friday at the Republic NOLA. Throwback is a weekly dance party with bands playing some of their favorite covers from the 80′s and 90′s.

We decided to make this Throwback a really special one though.

We’re going to be playing one of our favorite records, Weezer’s Blue Album in its entirety.

The show’s going to start at 10, and is $5.
