Here’s part two of the three part series we did with Colin Kerrigan of Out of Town Films. This is the first time these songs have been recorded and come as a pair. “After Death” at right around the 1 minute mark.
Also, be sure to check out more videos from the session in the related posts area and download the audio from the entire thing below:

Our good friend Colin from Philadelphia has recently been working on a documentary project featuring some awesome artists like Heartless Bastards, Sun Airway, Mates of State, Ava Luna and tons more playing takeaway style versions of their songs. Fortunately for us, our schedules at SXSW lined up just right and we were able to do one ourselves. Check it out. Also, take a look at some of the stills from the video as well below. So honored to be involved with such beautiful work.
This song was recorded & performed January 21st in Tyler’s bedroom as a last minute get together before our show that night @ the New Orleans Howlin’ Wolf. It had been written just a couple days before then and we wanted to take some time to work out some parts before the show. Luckily, Cody from http://www.goodmusicallday.com had his camera on him and managed to catch it. Enjoy! Let us know what you think
We’ve had a really great week on tour so far with our best buds Caddywhompus. After spending a rowdy New Year’s Eve playing a house party in Austin, we woke up the next morning and decided to shoot a video in front of some of the debris. Included is the scorched carcass of a couch that got incinerated (and got the fire department called) on the bonfire.
It was pretty nuts. Big thanks to T, Trevs, and Sean for helping us and the rest of the Chinquapin fam make New Years 2012 in Austin a night never to forget. Also THX CHRIS REHM and Harrison Smith for editing this sweet video.
Hope you enjoy! If you’d like a copy of the audio for jamming purposes, use the link below.
Also! We’ve got some new t-shirts available up online at our store! Give them a look and buy one if you’d like! We’ll be sure to ship em out to you real quick like regardless of whether or not we’re still on the road.
Hey y’all. We’re excited to announce some new tour dates for this August that are all sure to be incredible with friends TonsTons, Twin Killers, Zorch, Caddywhompus & many more.
We’ll be kicking this long weekend off in Houston & we’d love to see any and all your pretty faces. It’s been a hot minute since we last played Houston after hitting up Free Press Summer fest and we had the time of our lives so we can wait to be back.
**All shows are with Caddywhompus, Twin Killers, & Zorch except for Houston. That’s with Tontons and is going to be the jam.
Bust out your finest jean shorts and trim your mustaches cause shits gonna be hip. There is so much band love going on these few days it makes me want to cry.
Also! If you haven’t yet, check out our live acoustic set with our friends over at Liveset.com, give it a look!
We just got back from our band vacation to Florida! We ate mad sandwiches, swam in pools, rivers, and oceans, and didn’t even get a sunburn. We even managed to play a few shows in-between! Check out Devin’s tour recap video from the whole week:
In other news, we just got our very own Pandora Station! Check it out right here and get really confused by the related artists.
Third time in Tallanasty, third house party show with Spencer.
This house was PACKED. Everything unfolded as it should, pure debauchery.
Until the po-digs rolled in and laid down the law. After multiple warnings, orders were to stop the music totally.
Spencer Darr to the rescue – epic announcement that the party is being completely transported to another house a few blocks away.
Thus, second house party! Also packed and raging as ever. Caddy set up and lit the room on fire. We set up and got 3 songs in before the police came again and busted it down.
Party in Tallanasty 4ever.
Fell behind schedule with the videos for many reasons, so two days in one this time.
Savannah looks a lot like New Orleans. We had a brief while to walk around and hang with Chris’ awesome sister, Celia, then hit the venue.
The Wormhole. Pretty cool place, and new, apparently. We spent the pre-show hours making burritos, enjoying 1$ tall boy PBRs, and watching American Psycho and Labyrinth.
The crowd was thin, but we did meet a couple new good friends that we lead to our show by our good blogger buddy, Thomas Dorton.
Jacksonville was AWESOME. Our best best friend Kayla Green welcomed us in and showed us the best sandwiches (Angie’s) we have ever laid stomachs upon.
The venue that night, Jack Rabbit’s, was dark, spacious, a little over-priced, and had awesome sound.
The crowd was party hungry and heart-warming.We will definitely be coming back to Jacksonville.
Afterwards, we lost all good intentions and got sloppy playing beer pong and jamming to really bad music.
And now we’re Tallahassee getting ready to play at the raddest house party place there is, Spencer’s House.
(Only 3 more nights)
Sorry the video may be boring today. To be frank, not that much happened. The views on the ride were pretty awesome, though.
We got to town around 8 or 9. Hungry, we conveniently found a highly revered restaurant (The Grit) right next door to the venue and ate, almost definitely, the best meal of tour.
We were the last 2 of 4 bands, so we got to hang out a lot. It was a very small bar, but looked awesome. Super-disco.
The crowd was thin but among those there were 4 good folks who came all the way from Atlanta just to see Caddywhompus. Friendliest guys. Warmed my heart.
At the end of the night, we were left with no options for a sleeping place. We got lost for a while, then crammed into a room at the Days Inn.
I slept in my sleeping bag under the sink, usually that’d be very comfortable for me, but this was the first night I didn’t really sleep much.
It’s ok though, this is so awesome.
